Halloween is a fun celebration of masks and ghost figures and mechanized doorbell witches cackling, as also a highly anticipated evening of trick-or-treating. The ancient ritual of appeasing departed spirits is today kids dressing up and strolling the neighborhood seeking candy in their jack-o-lantern buckets. But what exactly is Halloween?
From Wikipedia:
“Halloween, or Hallowe’en (a contraction of All Hallows’ Evening), also known as Allhalloween, All Hallows’ Eve, or All Saints’ Eve, is a celebration observed in a number of countries on 31 October, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows’ Day. It begins the three-day observance of Allhallowtide, the time in the liturgical year dedicated to remembering the dead, including saints (hallows), martyrs, and all the faithful departed.”

Was it bringing out all the Halloween decorations that were in boxes in the attic or the basement? (voiceoverherald.com) Was it pumpkin picking? Or the pie?
